they are adding more content and polishing it.

Lets hope. However sounds like more stalling. Adding more content. That
would mean more polishing than nessary.

On the other hand I will need to upgrade my computer to play it so maybe
I can wait a little bit longer.

Have you had a look at the 3drealms site? There's some very active forums,
plus George Broussard and Joe Siegler post quite frequently.

Well worth a look if you've not been before!

I wouldn't count on the forums to help much. It's all hype when it comes to
"Prey" and DNF. Don't believe the hype until the game actually comes out.

My money's on 2006. 10th Anniversary of D3D

I'm not so sure. They've always done lots of polishing only to restart the
engine from scratch. DNF has been more silent probably because of the Prey
hype going on. I wouldn't bet on either of these games until either one of
them actually come out.

They went from the Quake 2 engine, to the Unreal engine. Since then,
Quake 3 and Doom 3 have been released.

The game you are waiting for does not exist and never has existed.

Some day, there might be a game called Duke Nukem 4ever. But it's
unlikely that it will be using any engine that's currently or
previously available for licensing.
