Rocky is someone who either lives in the back woods or lives in a third
world county who is still running a 486 PC and found Duke for free online
and think it's the greatest game ever. He is right if we could change the
clock back to 1996. Yes....1996.

3D Realms first announced a NEW Duke3d was going into development back in
1996 or 1997 and a year later people were posting that they were testing it
for them and it was greatest thing ever. Those people were undoubtably
employees of 3D Realms creating rumors that something was accutally going on
at the company.

My theory, the new game was only a thought and all the hype was created by
3D Realms to attempt to stay in some sort of spot light in the gaming
industry. Go to their website, they're proffesionals at creating hype that
no one can give a crap about and they're still trying to still promote their
out dated PC games.

This is a company who's been washed up for 10 years and everyone there is
trying to hang on to their jobs any way possible.

This has to be the most pathetic attempt at a company trying to stay alive
with doing as little as possible other than posting crap on their website.

I check out this newsgroup about every 6 months or so and still can't
believe anyone with a brain has something positive to say about this game
other than a 3D Realm employee pretending to be a user of the product.

It's over 3D Realms and has been for a long time.
Put Duke to sleep already.

I can understand that you start to doubt if there ever will be a DN4EVER.
I'm a software developer myself and I know creating software takes years,
but over 10 years is very very long. They do however still annonce and there
was a teaser made. Also, they have made other games since then, so dead,
they are not. There has been a recent Duke Nukem game, b.t.w., namely
Manhattan projects.

I use a Pentium 4 HT, 3.2GHz system running XP, and I still every now and
then play Duke (under DosBox). I also play other older games. Being old
doesn't make it bad. Am I suppost to stop liking a game because it run out
of fashion? Duke Nukem 3d is out dated as far as graphics is concerned, but
all the current fps games are nothing better than Duke3d, they just look
more realistic, but the fun factor is missing.

I don't know about Rocky, and I can understand that the once great following
of Duke3d is shrinking. I hope they will release a new Duke Nukem game or
another game this has the fun factor. And liking an old game does not mean
you live in the past.

I was one of the first suckers who purchased the Manhattan Project when it
first came out.
Don't know why you would say it's "original"? It was a major step back in
gaming technology, going from a simulated 3 dimensional game back to a 2
dimensional layout, 2D is what put Apogee on the map 10 years earlier.

Manhattan Project was a huge disapointment and 3D Realms did nothing more
than use Duke3d's previous sucess to market a game that took a step back in
time. It was nothing more than a way to generate revenue and it was my first
realization that 3DRealms was creating nothing more than hype with their
outdated games.

I still don't get Max Payne, the only reason why I bought it was because 3D
Realms developed it. Another waste of money.

Manhattan project is a side scroller, I would like to see a 3D version come
out with good graphics.
